Partnership CRR de Paris / Karukera Ballet
The Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris is developing a proactive approach to diversity and the French overseas territories. This is based on the establishment of partnerships enabling dancers from these territories to immerse themselves in the CRR dance department, the possibility for certain young talents to join the preparatory cycle for higher education, and the sharing of skills between the structures. Given the conditions of access to higher education in dance in France, the CRR de Paris acts as a bridge between the teaching provided in overseas France and higher education establishments.
In 2023, a closer partnership was established between the CRR de Paris and the Karukera Ballet school in the French West Indies. As a result, we were able to welcome six dancers and their teaching staff for a week-long immersion program. At the end of this program, and within the framework of this partnership, three young artists will join the CRR’s CPES program at the start of the 2023 academic year.
