A few words from Isabelle Calabre, dance journalist :
Emergence is here defined as an artistic approach that, while potentially drawing on existing choreographic languages, reveals a unique voice in one or more of the following areas—or their combination : movement composition ; the blending of diverse aesthetics ; the use of specific scenographic tools ; the boldness of the themes explored and how they are staged. In other words, a new way—still in development perhaps—of approaching dance and the body through performance. For Jumping #1, special attention will be paid to how the choreographic proposal engages with the cultural, human, social, and environmental issues that shape the Caribbean’s “Tout-Monde”.
